Scout Troop #172 is chartered with Twin Falls United Methodist Church and has been organized for over 20 years, holding weekly meetings on Mondays, beginning at 7:00 to 8:30 PM
For anyone wishing to donate items to any of our local scout troops, we have a drop off time of Monday Nights from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Sunday mornings after 10:45 worship service, items can also be collected. Scout Troop #172 provides many opportunities to other scouting groups to partner in the community for projects both in our local churches and school groups and has been sharing their donations with other scouting groups in the local area.
The Troop camps each month and is active in community projects and Eagle Projects serving our Church and families. Monthly Committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm during the school year.
Girl Scout Troops meet on Wednesdays & Thursdays for 2 different age groups. The scouts are active in church projects such as Operation Christmas Child and Messy Church events. Girl Scout Sunday in March is an opportunity for the troops to participate in worship service as readers, greeters and altar stewards.
Boy Scout Sunday in February each year is celebrated with a Soup Luncheon and sharing of the year’s events and planning for the projects of the year ahead. Scouts also participate in events throughout the year as volunteers for community Cleanup projects, Messy Church, Flea Markets, Easter celebrations and Holiday Craft Show setups.
Our scout groups are an integral part of our Church life at Twin Falls. Eagle projects and Gold Projects performed by our young troop leaders attest to the strong bonds scouting creates to equip young people with leadership and transforming of the world.
